Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Victoria has the largest Sikh population of any Australian state, more than 91,000 people at the 2021 census, and most of them live in Greater Melbourne.
The north (Craigieburn, Wollert) and the west (Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook) are the two big Punjabi corridors, with the south-east (Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham) growing fastest.
The South Asian community in Melbourne is strongest in Craigieburn, Tarneit, Truganina, Point Cook, Cranbourne, Officer, Pakenham and Wollert, and the Ravidasia community gathers around the gurdwaras in Craigieburn, Blackburn, Keysborough, Tarneit and Officer. Those are also the places a search on Rishta tends to start, though most members open theirs to the whole city and often to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane too.
Ravidasia families are a real and growing part of the Punjabi community here, with their own sabhas and their own experience of how caste gets asked about on matrimonial sites. On Rishta community is something you choose to state and choose to filter on; nobody can search you by a community you did not enter, women decide who can find them at all, and “caste no bar” sits at the top of the list rather than the bottom.

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.
