Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
New South Wales had about 47,000 Sikhs at the 2021 census, the second-largest community in Australia, concentrated in Sydney’s north-west and west.
Glenwood and Blacktown are the heart of Sikh Sydney; the Harris Park and Parramatta strip is where the wider Punjabi community meets.
The South Asian community in Sydney is strongest in Blacktown, Glenwood, Schofields, Quakers Hill, Riverstone, Parramatta and Harris Park, and the Ramgarhia community gathers around the gurdwaras in Glenwood, Revesby, Parklea and Austral. Those are also the places a search on Rishta tends to start, though most members open theirs to the whole city and often to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane too.
Ramgarhia families in Australia and New Zealand often arrived by way of East Africa or the UK as much as directly from Punjab, and that shows in what they look for: someone who understands a family that has already moved twice. Community is a filter here if you want it, with “caste no bar” always available, and family origin is a field of its own so a Nairobi-to-Birmingham-to-Melbourne story is visible rather than something you have to explain from scratch.
Built in, not promised
Filters Ramgarhia families here actually use: Ramgarhia, or caste no bar · Family origin (India, East Africa, UK) · Keeps kesh · Vegetarian · Citizen, PR or visa.
A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.

Leave your email and we’ll tell you the moment Sydney opens. Nobody is charged for waiting.
You’re on the list.
We’ll email you once, when we open in your city. If you left a number, a matchmaker — never someone from your own city — will call to introduce herself.
