Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Malayalam was among the fastest-growing languages in Australia between the 2016 and 2021 censuses, spoken at home by roughly 72,000 people. A large share of the community works in nursing and aged care, which is also why it is spread across regional Australia and not only the capitals.
The South Asian community in Adelaide is strongest in Salisbury, Mawson Lakes, Parafield Gardens, Athol Park and Woodville. Those are also the places a search on Rishta tends to start, though most members open theirs to the whole city and often to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane too.
Malayali families ask first about church or temple and denomination, then about family, then about shift work, because so much of the community is in health. Rishta carries all three: religion and denomination are fields, not guesses, family origin distinguishes Kerala from the Gulf-raised generation, and profiles say what someone actually does rather than a one-word job title.
Built in, not promised
Filters Malayalis here actually use: Malayalam mother tongue · Christian denomination or Hindu community · Family origin (Kerala, Gulf, born here) · Profession · Citizen, PR or visa.
A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.
