Indian brides in New Zealand

You won’t find a gallery of Indian brides in New Zealand here, on purpose. Women on Rishta decide who can find them, and their photos appear only after they approve someone. That is why they are here, and why a reply here means something.

New Zealand is an opening market.

Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.

Indian New Zealand

The community in New Zealand

The Indian ethnic group is the second-largest Asian community in New Zealand, close to 300,000 people at the 2023 census, and it includes both recent migrants and Fiji Indian families who have been here for generations.

Rishta is built for the Indian community in Australia and New Zealand: the largest membership is Punjabi and Sikh, alongside growing Hindu, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayali, Muslim, Christian and Fiji Indian communities. Religion, community, mother tongue and family origin are four separate filters rather than one muddled one, “no bar” is always an option, and none of it is public: there are no profile pages anyone can browse from Google.

Built in, not promised

How Rishta works for Indians in New Zealand

Filters Indians here actually use: Religion and community · Mother tongue · Family origin (India, Fiji, Sri Lanka, elsewhere) · Diet · Citizen, PR or visa.

Private by default
Her photos are hidden until she approves a specific person. Not a paid feature. Not a toggle she has to find.
She decides who can find her
Every woman chooses: visible to all verified men, only to men who match her preferences, or to nobody but her matchmaker. The default is preferences-only, and there are no public profile pages for anyone.
Verified or invisible
Government ID and a liveness check before anyone can search or be searched. Unverified accounts see nothing and are shown to no one.
No firehose
Every interest has to carry a written note, so nobody can bulk-send. Interests from outside her preferences wait in a separate folder that never notifies her. She can pause everything for a month without deleting anything.
A matchmaker, never from your city
New Zealand members are looked after by matchmakers based in Australia, never their own. She will not run into you at a wedding. Free for women; on the Vichola tier ($199/month) she searches and approaches on a man’s behalf.

Questions Indians in New Zealand ask us

Is Rishta open in New Zealand?
Yes. New Zealand is one of our opening countries. Women can join free today; men join the waitlist and verify when introductions begin, and billing starts only then.
How is this different from Shaadi.com for Indians in New Zealand?
Three ways. Every man shows government ID and passes a liveness check before he can search. Women decide who can find them, and their photos are hidden until they approve someone. And no phone number or email is ever displayed on a profile, at any membership level. There is a longer comparison at /rishta-vs-shaadi.
Do women pay?
No, and nothing is held back. Search, messaging, photo privacy and a matchmaker are all free for women, permanently. Men pay, because a platform where women actually reply is worth paying for.
Can my parents be involved?
Yes. Family can pay for a son’s membership, can see a Family View page you choose the contents of, and can speak to your matchmaker with your consent. What they can’t do is create or run a profile for someone who hasn’t agreed to it.
Can I filter by community and mother tongue?
Yes. Mother tongue, religion, community (with “caste no bar” always available), diet, family origin and residency status are all filters, and any of them can be a must-have.

A note from the founder

I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.

Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.

Indian matrimony in New Zealand, done properly.

Women can join free today. Men verify when introductions begin.

I am joining as

One email when we open in your city, and a call from your matchmaker if you asked for one. Nothing else, and you can delete your details at any time.
