Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
New Zealand’s Sikh community grew by roughly a third between the 2018 and 2023 censuses to more than 50,000 people, most of them in Auckland, with strong communities in Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Canterbury.
Punjabi families have farmed in the Waikato for over a century; the newer community is concentrated in South Auckland.
Khatri families here are split between Sikh and Hindu households, often in the same extended family, and a match usually has to work for both. Rishta treats religion and community as separate fields for exactly that reason, so a Khatri Sikh and a Khatri Hindu can find each other without either having to misdescribe themselves.
Built in, not promised

A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.
