For parents, siblings and family
Looking for your son or daughter?
You are welcome here, and you have a real role. There is one rule, and we would rather say it now than later: the account belongs to the person getting married, and it exists only because they chose to make it.
How family fits
Involved, the way it has always worked.
A vichola never worked alone; she worked with the families. We built the same thing in, with one difference: your daughter or son decides how much of it they want.
- Gift a membership
- For a son, you can pay for Search or Vichola outright. For a daughter there is nothing to pay: women are free, permanently.
- Family View
- A read-only page your daughter or son can send you on WhatsApp, showing what they choose to show. You need no account to open it.
- Second opinion
- If they invite you, you can leave private notes on an introduction that only they can see. Advice, not control.
- Talk to the matchmaker
- With their consent, their matchmaker will happily speak to you. Many parents find this is the part they were missing.
The one rule
We never make a profile for someone who hasn’t asked for one.
Not because we doubt your intentions. Because it is their marriage, because a profile made without them is the first thing a good match will notice, and because in Australia creating one for an adult without their consent is a legal problem we will not create for you. Send them this page instead, or let us call you and talk it through.
How to start
Three ways in. All of them go through them.
-
01
Send them this
Forward the page for women or the page for men. Most people join within a few minutes of reading it.
-
02
Or ask us to call you
Leave your number below. A matchmaker will ring, explain how it works, and answer whatever you want to ask.
-
03
They join in their own name
When they are ready, they create the account themselves. Then you can gift the membership, see the Family View, and be as involved as they would like.
Questions families ask us
Can I make the profile and let them take over later?
Can I pay?
Can I see who they are introduced to?
Can I speak to the matchmaker myself?
Is this only for Sikh or Punjabi families?
Ask a matchmaker to call you.
Twenty minutes, in Punjabi, Hindi or English. She will explain how it works and what your daughter or son would need to do. Membership for a son starts at $29.99 a month; for a daughter it is free.
Thank you. We’ll call.
A matchmaker will ring within a few days to talk it through. When your daughter or son is ready, they join in their own name and you can gift the membership if you’d like.
