Every man here is ID-verified. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. Photos appear when she approves your request. Every interest you send carries a note you wrote, so make it count. Her contact details are never shown; she shares them if she wants to.
Nepal-born residents are one of the fastest-growing migrant groups in Australia, well over 100,000 people at the 2021 census, up from a small fraction of that a decade earlier. It is a young community, which means a lot of people looking at the same time.
The Nepali community here is young, recently arrived and mostly still on the visa treadmill, and visa status is the question nobody wants to ask first. Rishta puts it in the profile as a field, alongside whether someone is open to relocating, so it is answered before the first conversation rather than three weeks in. Caste and ethnicity are optional, “no bar” is available, and women decide who can find them.
Built in, not promised
Filters Nepalis here actually use: Nepali mother tongue · Community or ethnicity, or no bar · Visa status, stated up front · Open to relocating · Both Australia and New Zealand.
A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every man verified, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your city. I built it because I am looking too.
